Are meals included in my travel request?
Hope Air provides free meal vouchers for patients who are staying overnight in accommodation arranged by Hope Air. This program is available in most Canadian cities and aims to ease the financial burden of meal expenses for patients traveling for medical appointments.
Meal vouchers are valid for the dates of travel and cannot be transferred or sold. A voucher is worth at least $40 per night, to a maximum of 2 nights. Some exceptions apply for BC residents, please refer to the program information for BC residents.
Hope Air provides meal vouchers in 2 different ways:
- At Hope Air partner hotels, meal vouchers are provided by the front desk hotel staff upon check-in and are valid for in-restaurant or in-room dining.
- If hotel meal vouchers are unavailable, Hope Air provides Uber Eats vouchers, depending on availability of Uber Eats in the city where you are receiving medical care. The Uber app connects you with a range of participating local restaurants so you can have your meal delivered to your hotel.
If neither option is available, meal vouchers cannot be provided.
