Escort Assistance

Hope Air uses the term Escort as family/companion who aids the patient travelling.

Criteria for this entity:

Support During Medical Travel: 

• Hope Air provides free flights for one escort when requested and medically necessary. 
• Escorts are supported with airline travel and hotel accommodation, sharing the same room with the patient. 

Adult Patients: 

• One escort's flight can be covered if medically required. 
• Verbal or written confirmation from the referring physician is needed to confirm the medical necessity of an escort. 
• Escorts must be at least 19 years old. 
• This policy applies to all provinces. 

Minors (18 years old and under): 

• Must have an escort whose flight is also provided for free. 
• Automatically approved for one escort. 

Eligibility for Escorts: 

• Escorts must be 18 years of age or older.
