Accommodation for British Columbia Residents
There are two programs in BC: BC Cancer Travel Support Program and the BC General Travel support program.
BC Cancer Travel Support Program
Hope Air collaborates with the Canadian Cancer Society who operates Cancer Lodges in select communities in British Columbia, including Vancouver, Kelowna, Prince George and Victoria. These lodges are available for Hope Air patients, subject to availability. Where Cancer Lodges are not available, Hope Air partners with select hotels in the cities where our patients travel and can offer up to 14 nights' accommodation.
More information about the BC Cancer travel program can be found below.
BC General Travel Support Program
At this time, Hope Air regrets that we are unable to offer accommodations in our BC General Travel Support Program.
For patients who require accommodation support, there are other charities in the province that provide accommodation assistance, including Variety Children’s Charity (for individuals 18 and under). The BC government also provides the BC Travel Assistance Program (TAP) for individuals travelling for medical care and maintains a list of hotels which provide accommodation at discounted rates to British Columbian patients and their families who are required to travel to out of town locations to access non-emergency care.
